Crown Castle announced a strategic restructuring after revealing its 2024 results. The company will focus on its tower operations, owning and leasing around 40,000 towers while selling its small cell and fiber business. CCI operates in 49 states, with 105,000 small cells, and 90,000 route miles of fiber, accounting for one-third of revenues.

The tower business of CCI focuses on long-term lease agreements, with an average of 2.4 tenants per tower and a weighted-average remaining lease term of about six years. About 40% of tower locations are on land owned by CCI, with 56% of towers in the top 50 domestic trading areas. T-Mobile is the largest tenant, accounting for 30% of annual revenues.
