White House-led talks on the future of TikTok are focusing on non-Chinese investors acquiring the app’s U.S. operations to rescue it from a potential ban. Jeff Yass’ Susquehanna International Group and Bill Ford’s General Atlantic, along with private equity firm KKR, are leading discussions. The plan involves creating a U.S. entity for TikTok, reducing Chinese ownership below the 20% threshold required by U.S. law. Oracle would manage U.S. user data to ensure it’s not accessible from China. Representatives for TikTok, ByteDance, and others involved have not commented on the matter.
