Bar Louie, a Texas-based gastropub chain, has closed two locations in Metro Detroit, Michigan. The affected sites are in Livonia at Laurel Park Place and in Auburn Hills at Great Lakes Crossing. Staff were laid off abruptly, leaving only two Bar Louie locations in Michigan. The closure was based on location performance, as stated in an internal memo. The chain operates in 19 US states and previously filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in January 2020.
