U.S. companies borrowed 7.4% less in February for equipment investments compared to the previous year, totaling $9.7 billion. The Equipment Leasing and Finance Association noted a return to healthy demand after fluctuations. Credit approvals remained steady at 75%. The ELFA CapEx Finance Index, based on a 25-member survey, dropped to 58.1 in March.
