Instacart and DoorDash are competing in the grocery delivery industry, emphasizing their advertising capabilities and partnerships with grocers. Instacart’s Caper Carts now offer ads for brand partners in stores, while DoorDash’s DoubleDash service allows additional purchases with no extra fee. Brands like Ben & Jerry’s and Red Bull have seen sales lifts through these platforms.

Instacart’s Caper Carts are expanding across the U.S., reaching over 60 cities. They partner with grocers like Hy-Vee to offer Carrot Ads, extending campaigns to the grocers’ ecommerce platforms. More than 220 retail banners now utilize Instacart’s Carrot Ads for consumer packaged goods advertising.

DoorDash introduces DoubleDash, offering a new ad format called Banner for additional add-on purchases post-checkout. Brands like Pepsi and Mondelēz have seen success with Sponsored Products on DoubleDash. DoorDash reports significant growth in grocery and retail delivery, with Valentine’s Day wine sales up 95% year over year and non-restaurant orders increasing.
