Pending home sales in February increased by 2.0%, with the South experiencing the largest gain. Year-over-year, contract signings fell in all regions, with the Midwest seeing the biggest decline. The National Association of Realtors forecasts mortgage rates to average 6.4% in 2025 and 6.1% in 2026, with existing-home sales expected to rise by 6% in 2025 and 11% in 2026. The national median home price is predicted to increase by 3% in 2025 and 4% in 2026. The Northeast and West saw month-over-month declines in transactions, while the Midwest and South saw increases.
