Private equity firms and aerospace suppliers are among the bidders competing to buy Boeing’s Jeppesen navigation unit for over $8 billion. Boeing is expected to invite bids in the coming weeks, with final offers expected to value Jeppesen between $8-9 billion. The sale is part of Boeing CEO’s plan to streamline the company.
Potential buyers include Vista Equity, Warburg Pincus, Advent International, Permira, TPG, Francisco Partners, TransDigm, Thoma Bravo, Silver Lake, Honeywell, and Carlyle. The final offers are expected to value Jeppesen between $8-9 billion, surpassing initial expectations. Jeppesen, founded in the 1930s, is viewed as a valuable asset in the aerospace industry.
The sale of Jeppesen would mark one of the biggest carve-out transactions in recent years. Potential bidders are vying for the opportunity to acquire Jeppesen, a company that provides navigation products and software. If TransDigm successfully acquires Jeppesen, it would be the company’s largest acquisition, expanding its offerings in the aerospace sector.
