Alstom secures contract extension to operate JFK AirTrain, worth $518m

Alstom secures a seven-year contract extension with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to continue operating and maintaining JFK International Airport’s AirTrain. The deal is worth approximately $518m and includes an option to extend for an additional three years. The AirTrain serves as a vital link between airport terminals, parking, and NYC’s public transport, operating around the clock. Last year, nearly 25 million passengers used the JFK AirTrain, with an average daily ridership of 68,000. The system had an availability rate of 98.56% in 2024 and supports over 230 jobs, including 59 customer service roles.
