Bank of America has promoted Holly O’Neill to head its consumer, retail, and preferred lines of business after a top executive departure. O’Neill, with almost 30 years at BofA, previously led the retail unit and is a repeat honoree on American Banker’s Most Powerful Women in Banking list. The move combines retail and preferred departments to simplify operations.

David Tyrie, BofA’s chief officer of digital and marketing, will lead a new consumer client solutions group. The reorganization aims to streamline the organization, according to a bank spokesperson. O’Neill’s and Tyrie’s expanded roles are part of this effort to enhance operational excellence and deliver for clients and investors.

O’Neill’s career at BofA began in 1996 as a credit analyst trainee. She rose through the ranks to become head of retail banking in 2018, taking on challenges to drive financial health for clients. O’Neill’s promotion to her new position reflects her leadership and commitment to excellence in banking.
