Canada-based security startup Tailscale secures $160m in Series C funding led by Accel, with support from existing investors and new angel investors. The funding brings the company’s valuation to $1.5bn, with a client base including Instacart and Duolingo.

Tailscale, known for simplifying VPN deployment, offers secure remote access solutions for developers and IT teams. The company raised $100m in its Series B round in May 2022, reaching a $1bn valuation. With total funding of $275m, Tailscale continues to expand its services globally.

Despite geopolitical tensions, Tailscale CEO Avery Pennarun remains confident in the company’s operations. The product facilitates secure communication between various internet-connected devices, attracting interest from investors like Accel due to strong developer engagement. Tailscale has no plans for acquisition at this time.
