Chinese electric car giant BYD is launching its Denza brand in Europe with the Z9GT arriving in showrooms in the fourth quarter of 2025. The model will come in battery-only and plug-in hybrid versions, targeting a different price segment than Tesla.

BYD has seen a surge in overseas sales, selling over 206,000 cars outside China in the first quarter of 2025. The automaker’s revenue grew by at least 86% from a year ago, with record new energy vehicle sales. BYD no longer produces traditional fuel-powered passenger cars, focusing on electric vehicles.
