U.S. weekly jobless claims increase slightly to 223,000, in line with estimates

The Labor Department reported that first-time claims for U.S. unemployment benefits rose slightly to 223,000 in the week ended April 5th, up by 4,000 from the previous week. This was in line with economist estimates. The four-week moving average of initial jobless claims remained unchanged at 223,000.
