The US SEC and Binance seek a two-month pause in their legal battle. Both parties have been in discussions, with the SEC requesting an extension, which Binance agreed to. This is the second 60-day pause this year, with the SEC citing the newly launched crypto task force as a reason for the extension.
The SEC filed a lawsuit against Binance in June 2023, alleging unregistered offers and sales of tokens and products. The legal battle has dragged on for almost two years, with 13 charges pressed against Binance, its US platform, and CEO Changpeng Zhao. The SEC seeks approval for any resolution or changes in the litigation scope.
