BNP Paribas Cardif has acquired AXA Investment Managers, signing a Share Purchase Agreement expected to close in July 2025. The acquisition aims to create a leading asset management platform in Europe, focusing on long-term savings assets for insurers and pension funds. The ECB’s prudential treatment interpretation for the acquisition could impact BNP Paribas Group’s CET1 ratio by -35 bps, with an expected return on invested capital above 14% in the third year and more than 20% in the fourth year. The Group’s profitability objectives and distribution policy remain unchanged. Final prudential treatment conditions will be communicated at the transaction’s closing.
