CNOOC Ltd announced the start of production at its Wenchang 9-7 Oilfield Development Project, located in the western Pearl River Mouth Basin. The project includes 25 wells and is expected to reach a plateau production of 12,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day by 2027. This project is the first offshore low-permeability oilfield to use miscible gas flooding technology, enhancing oil recovery. It also focuses on efficient gas recovery and utilization, with a high-tech power generation unit capable of producing 40 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually. The project highlights CNOOC’s commitment to sustainable and innovative energy production.
