Alibaba’s AI assistant app Quark surpassed ByteDance’s Doubao to become China’s most popular AI app in March, with close to 150 million monthly active users (MAUs). Alibaba previously reported 200 million users. The app features a simple search box and can assist with academic research, document drafting, and image generation. Alibaba’s cloud unit is expanding its platform-as-a-service options and enhancing its overseas lineup with proprietary large language models. The stock is trading higher despite losing 8% in value in the last seven days. BABA stock is up 5.43% at $113.58.
