Kontron AG’s Transportation Spain unit has secured a GSM-R project in Spain worth over 20 million euros. The project will improve railway infrastructure and safety along a 338 km line between Medina del Campo and Orense. Adif, the entity managing Spain’s railway network, aims to enhance operations and reduce delays with this project. The GSM-R system will also lead to a more efficient use of energy, resulting in a reduced carbon footprint. The contract includes deployment and a four-year maintenance period, contributing to a more modern and optimized railway service in Spain.
