State Street (STT) reported first-quarter 2025 earnings of $2.04 per share, beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.98 and increasing 20.7% from the prior year. Total revenues were $3.28 billion, up 4.7% year over year, but missed estimates. AUC/A was $46.73 trillion, up 6.4% year over year, and AUM was $4.67 trillion, up 8.5% year over year. State Street repurchased $100 million worth of shares. The company’s performance was mixed with growth in fee revenues and lower provisions, but higher expenses and lower NII. STT currently holds a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold).
In comparison, The Bank of New York Mellon (BK) reported adjusted earnings of $1.58 per share, beating estimates and jumping 22.5% from the prior year. JPMorgan (JPM) reported earnings of $5.07 per share, exceeding estimates. Both companies saw positive impacts from fee revenues, NII, and lower provisions, with some challenges from expenses and AUM balances.
