The General Court of Audit (GCA) in Saudi Arabia hosted its sixth Internal Audit Forum in Riyadh, drawing over 550 leaders and specialists. A key feature was the launch of the AI-powered “Internal Assistant” tool for immediate auditing queries. The forum emphasized the strategic role of internal auditors and the need for ongoing education and professional development.

In a LinkedIn post, Institute of Internal Auditors president discussed the integration of modern technologies like AI in auditing. The forum highlighted a global shift towards expanding the advisory role of auditors, with plans to allocate up to 40% of audit activities to consulting in the future. Panel discussions on accrual accounting and IT regulations were held, along with workshops and an exhibition.

The GCA’s forum aimed to enhance internal audit practices in government organizations, particularly during the transition to accrual accounting. The event focused on promoting professional expertise and addressing current challenges and opportunities in the field.
