The General Court of Audit (GCA) in Saudi Arabia hosted its sixth Internal Audit Forum in Riyadh, drawing over 550 leaders and specialists. A key feature was the launch of the AI-powered “Internal Assistant” tool for immediate auditing queries. The forum emphasized the strategic role of internal auditors and the need for ongoing education and professional development.
In a LinkedIn post, Institute of Internal Auditors president discussed the integration of modern technologies like AI in auditing. The forum highlighted a global shift towards expanding the advisory role of auditors, with plans to allocate up to 40% of audit activities to consulting in the future. Panel discussions on accrual accounting and IT regulations were held, along with workshops and an exhibition.
