The agreement recognises Anishnaabe culture, incorporating cultural safety measures and financial benefits sharing from the Springpole project. First Mining CEO Dan Wilton commended Mishkeegogamang for their collaboration and openness, highlighting the agreement’s avenues for the community’s participation in various aspects of the project.

The agreement signifies a five-year process of technical review, traditional knowledge study, and relationship building. Mishkeegogamang Chief Merle Loon emphasized the importance of the agreement in representing the community’s interests, delivering long-term value, and creating opportunities aligned with their values.
