Switzerland’s Hero Group has acquired a majority stake in Brazilian snack company Super Saude Nutricional. Founded in 2013, Super Saude markets over 30 snack products under the Pinati brand. CEO Waldemiro Pinati will remain as CEO and a minority shareholder. Financial terms were not disclosed. Hero Group aims to expand its snack business in regions with high snack penetration.

Super Saude Nutricional offers protein bars, crisps, and chocolate-covered snacks. The company, based in Campo Largo, operates in north-east, south-east, and south Brazil. Hero Group, known for jams and spreads in Brazil, now ventures into new snack territory. Hero CEO Christian Schierbaum sees the acquisition as a strategic move for growth in the competitive snack market.

CEO Schierbaum recently succeeded Rob Versloot, who led Hero for over 12 years. Hero’s expansion into the UK last year with the acquisition of Deliciously Ella shows the company’s global growth strategy. Hero Group’s acquisition of Super Saude Nutricional aligns with its goal of expanding its presence and competitiveness in the Brazilian market.
