Temperature-controlled warehouse operator Lineage Inc. is constructing an automated cold-storage facility near Dallas to expand its U.S. footprint. The facility in Hutchins, Texas, will feature advanced automation and is expected to open in late 2027, serving domestic and cross-border markets.
Positioned in Prime Pointe Park near Union Pacific’s Dallas Intermodal Terminal, the new Lineage facility in Dallas will extend its reach to serve most of the U.S. population within one to two days. The expansion follows a recent upgrade at Lineage’s Hobart, Indiana facility, now the company’s largest in North America.
Lineage also recently expanded capabilities at its Port of New Orleans facility, becoming both a customs bonded warehouse and a USDA-approved import house. With over 485 temperature-controlled facilities globally, Lineage provides various services including freight forwarding and truck transportation.
Despite a third-quarter net loss of $112 million, Lineage saw a 3% increase in revenue year over year to $1.38 billion. The company’s near-term outlook has softened due to tariff uncertainty and elevated food prices, prompting customers to hold less inventory. Lineage remains optimistic about growing consumer demand for its products.
